An accountant and tax practitioner of nearly 40 years’ experience, Heather Rogers started her career as an accountant in public practice, before moving to commerce, working initially in the leisure and entertainment industry, before working as a project accountant in the manufacturing and defence industry. She then worked for an American multinational in Very Large Scale Integration as their Northern Europe Financial Accountant.

In 1993, at the age of 25, she set up her own accountancy and tax consultancy practice, Aston Accountancy Limited, which she still runs from offices in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes with the assistance and support of her team.

She handles all aspects of accountancy and tax related matters, for both business and personal tax and estates, including tax planning, and works closely with a variety of experts in investment, financial planning and legal matters to enable her clients to have the best advice possible.

For over 4 years, she had her own page on Teletext, on behalf of the Press Association, which was the Tax Advice Clinic, where she advised viewers on tax matters. She currently advises readers and writes regular articles for several publications, including regular articles for This is Money, for their “Ask an Expert” section, which is part of MailOnline. Her articles have been published by Knowledia, MSN and France24 news, as well as appearing on several US business news websites.

She is currently the resident Tax Columnist at This is Money and has contributed to the Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday regularly and is listed as one of their columnists.

In 2014, Heather was nominated by Natwest Bank plc for their Everywoman Awards.

Heather is a member of the Institute of Directors and a regular contributor to their Policy Voice Panel. She is now also a member of the Economic Policy and Economic Trends Committee.

In 2020, Heather joined the Expert Witness Institute of which she is a member, and added expert witness work to her specialist services. She was a speaker at their 2025 conference on acting as an Expert Witness for claimants in government schemes, where she has been appointed to act as an Expert Witness for claimants in the Post Office redress schemes.

Heather has featured on the BBC Radio 4 programme “You and Yours” and been invited on BBC News 24, and several BBC breakfast radio shows in connection with various tax matters in connection with the Budget and other tax related matters of interest to viewers.

She has also contributed to Nick Wallis’ Post Office Scandal website and written an article on the bonuses paid to the Board.

She has also assisted in connection with the Loan Charge and has submitted evidence to the All-Party Parliamentary Loan Charge and Taxpayer Fairness Group.

Heather was recently nominated in 2025 as the best accountant in Buckinghamshire.

She is a private pilot and enjoys hillwalking, photography and cooking Neapolitan food in her spare time.
